- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
Topping Ideas

- Sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Green onions
- Chives
- Cheese
- Bacon
- Broccoli
Instructions
- Prep Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 400°F using the air fryer setting to preheat while preparing the potatoes.
- Wash & Prick Potatoes: Wash and thoroughly dry the potatoes. Use a fork to poke each potato about 8 times all over to allow steam to escape during cooking.
- Oil the Potatoes: Drizzle olive oil over the potatoes or use an oil sprayer, then rub evenly around the outsides of each potato to ensure a crispy skin.
- Season the Potatoes: Whisk together kosher salt and freshly cracked pepper. Sprinkle half over the top of the potatoes and rub in, then sprinkle the remaining seasoning on the other side to evenly distribute flavor.
- Air Fry: Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket with space between each. Cook at 400°F for 45 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through. Medium potatoes should take approximately 40-45 minutes and larger sizes up to 55 minutes. They are done when fork-tender.
- Rest: Remove potatoes using tongs and let them cool for 5 to 10 minutes to finish cooking and make handling easier.
- Slice and Serve: Cut a slice down the top-middle of each potato without cutting all the way through. Gently press the ends toward the middle to open the potato. Fluff the insides with a fork and top with your favorite toppings before serving.
Notes
- Potato size affects cooking time: larger potatoes may need up to 60 minutes at 400°F.
- Use a fork to prick potatoes to prevent them from bursting in the air fryer.
- Rubbing oil evenly ensures a crisp and flavorful skin.
- Flip potatoes halfway for even cooking and browning.
- Letting potatoes rest after air frying allows the interior to finish cooking for a fluffy texture.
- Customize with a variety of toppings for different flavor combinations.
