Description

A creamy and rich avocado chocolate mousse that combines ripe avocados with melted milk chocolate, cocoa powder, and warm spices for a deliciously smooth dessert. This mousse can be enjoyed immediately or chilled for a thicker texture, topped with whipped cream and fresh berries for an elegant finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup milk (any kind)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ancho chili powder, divided

Optional Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Sliced strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, and watch carefully to prevent burning. Once the chocolate is almost melted, remove and stir until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Prepare Avocado Mixture: Halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a blender. Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, milk, vanilla extract, honey, salt, half of the ancho chili powder, and half of the ground cinnamon. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Serve or Chill: You can enjoy the mousse immediately as a pudding or cover it and refrigerate for 2 hours to achieve a thicker, creamier mousse texture.
  4. Add Toppings: Before serving, top the mousse with whipped cream, sliced strawberries, raspberries, and sprinkle with the remaining ground cinnamon and ancho chili powder.

Notes

  • Chocolate burns quickly, so watch carefully during melting to avoid burnt chocolate.
  • Scrape the sides and bottom of the blender container once or twice while blending to ensure even incorporation.
  • When refrigerating, cover the mousse with plastic wrap placed directly on the surface to prevent a thin top layer from forming.
