Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites featuring tender chicken breast cubes wrapped in crispy bacon and coated with rich dark brown sugar for a perfect sweet and savory appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, cut into 1 inch cubes)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
  • 12 slices bacon (thin cut, cut into halves or thirds)
  • ¾ cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉ to ensure it’s ready for baking the chicken bites.
  2. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to make cleanup easier and place a cooling rack on top of it to allow the bacon wrapped chicken bites to crisp evenly.
  3. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breast cubes with salt and pepper to taste for flavor enhancement.
  4. Wrap Chicken with Bacon: Cut each bacon slice into halves or thirds depending on thickness. Wrap each piece of chicken with a piece of bacon. No toothpicks are needed as the bacon will stick to the chicken.
  5. Coat with Brown Sugar: Roll the bacon-wrapped chicken pieces in dark brown sugar on a shallow plate until well-coated, adding a sweet contrast to the savory bacon and chicken.
  6. Arrange on Rack: Place the coated chicken bites on the prepared baking rack on the baking sheet. Season again lightly with salt and pepper if desired.
  7. Bake: Bake for 45 minutes or until the bacon is crisped beautifully and chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165℉). Check for doneness starting at 30 minutes to avoid overcooking.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a fresh and attractive finish, then serve warm.

Notes

  • Bacon Choice: Thinner slices of bacon work best as they crisp up nicely without overcooking the chicken.
  • Sugar Swap: Dark brown sugar is recommended for its rich molasses flavor, but light brown or granulated sugar can be used as alternatives.
  • Cooking Time: Oven temperatures vary, so start checking at 30 minutes to ensure chicken reaches 165℉ internal temperature for safe eating.
  • Freezer-Friendly: These bites can be prepared ahead and frozen up to 3 months; increase baking time when cooking from frozen.
