Description

Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta is a quick and flavorful dinner featuring juicy shrimp, tender spaghetti, and a creamy, sweet-and-spicy sauce that comes together in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Pasta

  • 8 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 clove minced garlic

Sauce

  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together ⅓ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup heavy cream, ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce, and ¼ teaspoon salt until thoroughly combined. Set aside.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook 8 ounces of dry spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Season the Shrimp: In a large bowl, toss 1 pound of peeled and deveined large shrimp with 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper to evenly coat.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 clove minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking to keep shrimp tender. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Heat the Sauce: Lower the skillet heat to medium-low and add the prepared sauce. Warm the sauce for 1 minute while whisking continuously to blend the flavors and heat evenly.
  6. Combine Pasta and Shrimp: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and add the drained spaghetti. Toss everything together in the sauce until well coated and heated through.

Notes

  • Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-3 days.
  • Reheat leftovers gently in the microwave or on the stove, adding a splash of heavy cream to keep the pasta moist.
  • Freezing leftovers is not recommended as it may affect the texture of the sauce and shrimp.
  • This dish is best served fresh for optimal flavor and texture.
