Description

Celebrate the holidays with festive and colorful Christmas Jello Shots featuring layers of lime and cranberry flavored gelatin mixed with vodka, topped with whipped cream and Christmas sprinkles for a fun and boozy treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Green Layer

  • 1 3 ounce package lime Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka

Red Layer

  • 1 3 ounce package cranberry Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka

Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cups: Place plastic shot cups on a rimmed tray or baking dish to easily transfer them to and from the refrigerator. Ensure you have enough space in your refrigerator to chill the shots.
  2. Make the Green Layer: In a large bowl or measuring cup with a spout, combine the lime Jello mix and 1 cup boiling water. Whisk until fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Carefully pour the mixture into each cup filling them just under halfway. Refrigerate for about 45 minutes until the layer is set.
  3. Make the Red Layer: Repeat the process with the cranberry Jello: whisk the mix with 1 cup boiling water until dissolved, then mix in 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Pour this red mixture gently on top of the chilled green layer in the cups. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, until fully set.
  4. Serve: When ready to serve, top each jello shot with whipped cream and festive Christmas sprinkles for a fun holiday presentation.

Notes

  • If cranberry Jello is unavailable, substitute with strawberry, cherry, or raspberry Jello for equally delicious results.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add whipped cream and sprinkles just before serving to keep the presentation fresh.
  • Use a tray with rims to avoid spills when transferring cups to the fridge.
