Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe transforms classic garlic bread into a deliciously cheesy and savory pizza, perfect for a quick and tasty meal. Featuring a crispy French bread base topped with a flavorful garlic butter, pizza sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and parmesan, this dish is baked to golden perfection and garnished with fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes for an added kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉ and line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prepare for baking.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together ½ cup softened salted butter, 6 finely minced or pressed garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
  3. Prepare Bread: Cut the 1 pound French or Italian bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, similar to preparing garlic bread.
  4. Spread Garlic Butter: Evenly spread half of the garlic butter mixture over each piece of bread, cut side up. Place the bread on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Add Pizza Sauce: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup pizza sauce over each piece evenly.
  6. Add Toppings: Sprinkle 8 ounces shredded low-moisture mozzarella, 15 pepperoni slices, and 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese evenly over the sauce on both bread pieces.
  7. Bake: Return the bread pizzas to the oven and bake for 18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread turn golden and crisp.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let sit for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and extra parmesan cheese if desired. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Choose a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for the best texture and flavor.
  • For a quicker version, use frozen garlic bread instead of fresh bread and garlic butter. Skip the garlic butter step if using frozen bread.
  • Low-moisture freshly shredded mozzarella melts better and yields the best cheesy texture.
  • Mixing parmesan cheese in with mozzarella enhances flavor and adds a savory depth.
