Description

A festive and refreshing non-alcoholic holiday mocktail featuring cranberry juice, apple cider, fresh mint, and a sparkle of ginger beer or sparkling water. Perfect for celebrating the season with a flavorful and light beverage.

Ingredients

Scale

Mocktail Ingredients

  • 6 mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz apple cider or apple juice
  • ½ oz lime juice
  • Top with sparkling water or ginger beer
  • A splash of apple cider vinegar (optional)
  • A pinch of icing sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bruise the Mint: Clap your mint leaves in your hands and add them to your shaker with the maple syrup. Press down gently a couple of times with a muddler to bruise the mint slightly, releasing its aroma without crushing it completely.
  2. Mix Juices and Ice: Add the lime juice, cranberry juice, and apple cider or apple juice to the shaker along with some ice. Shake well until the mixture is chilled and combined.
  3. Strain and Garnish: Strain the mixture into a glass filled with fresh ice. Top with your choice of sparkling water or ginger beer.
  4. Finish and Decorate: Garnish your drink with cranberries, fresh mint, and/or a lime wedge. If desired, dust a pinch of icing sugar on top to create a festive snow effect.

Notes

  • To reduce sugar content, use a low-sugar cranberry juice and a low-sugar sweetener like monkfruit maple syrup.
  • Both sparkling water and ginger beer work wonderfully in this mocktail; for a special touch, try a non-alcoholic sparkling wine.
  • Apple cider vinegar adds a subtle bite similar to alcohol but start with a small amount as it is strong.
  • Use icing sugar sparingly if you are monitoring sugar intake; it’s primarily for decorative snow effect.
