Description

Pizzadillas combine the cheesy goodness of pizza with the crispy, handheld convenience of quesadillas. Made with flour tortillas, pizza sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning, this easy skillet and broiler recipe delivers a melty, crispy treat perfect for a quick lunch or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 medium flour tortillas
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
  • 1/3 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the skillet and tortilla: Heat your broiler. Place a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat and warm the olive oil. Add one tortilla to the skillet and evenly spread half of the pizza sauce over it. Sprinkle minced garlic on top, then layer half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning evenly.
  2. Cook and flip the pizzadilla: Place the second tortilla on top and cook until the cheese begins to melt and the bottom tortilla turns golden brown. To flip, cover the skillet with a large plate, invert it to transfer the pizzadilla onto the plate, then carefully slide the pizzadilla back into the skillet with the cooked side up.
  3. Add the toppings for the second side: Spread the remaining pizza sauce over the top tortilla, then sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, pepperoni, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Broil the pizzadilla: Place the skillet under the preheated broiler. Broil for about 2 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and the pepperoni becomes crispy.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from the broiler, sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the pizzadilla, and serve immediately for a warm, cheesy delight.

Notes

  • Use an oven-safe skillet to seamlessly move from stovetop to broiler.
  • You can substitute pepperoni with other pizza toppings like sliced mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives for variety.
  • Be careful when flipping the pizzadilla to keep it intact; using a large plate helps.
  • For a crispier crust, ensure the skillet and broiler are adequately preheated.
  • Leftover pizzadillas can be reheated in a skillet or oven to retain crispiness.
