Description

Delight in these festive Valentine’s Oreo Truffles, crafted with golden Oreo cookies, creamy cream cheese, and coated in smooth vanilla candy coating. Perfect for a sweet holiday treat, these truffles are easy to make, charmingly decorated, and ideal for sharing at Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided
  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place 42 golden Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. If you don’t have a food processor, crush the cookies in a sealed bag using a rolling pin until finely crushed.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese and Color: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixer or mixing bowl. Add 6 ounces of softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring, mixing thoroughly until the mixture is uniform.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Check the consistency; the mixture should stick together when rolled. If it’s too loose, add more cookie crumbs. Use a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, or tablespoon to scoop uniform portions. Roll each portion into a firm 1 1/4 inch ball and place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Repeat until all mixture is used, approximately 24 balls. Freeze the balls to firm up while preparing the coating.
  4. Melt Candy Coating: Break the 16 ounces of vanilla candy coating into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second bursts, stirring between, until completely melted and smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle ball into the melted coating, tapping off excess against the edge of the bowl. Place dipped truffles back onto the parchment paper.
  6. Decorate: While the coating is still soft, sprinkle truffles with your favorite Valentine sprinkles. Get creative with colors and designs.
  7. Set Truffles: Return the tray to the refrigerator and chill for at least 15 minutes to allow the coating to fully set.
  8. Serve: Serve the truffles at room temperature for optimal flavor and texture. Enjoy your festive treats!

Notes

  • Store Oreo truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; they taste best chilled.
  • To freeze, place truffles in an airtight container for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, crushing the cookies in a sealed bag with a rolling pin works well.
  • If the mixture is too soft, add more crushed Oreo cookies to achieve the right rolling consistency.
  • Use a toothpick to remove excess coating from the fork before placing truffles on the sheet to prevent drips.
  • Decorate with additional toppings like crushed candy, nuts, or drizzled chocolate once the outer shell hardens for extra flair.
